Like the two previous years, a special OVA was released in time for Christmas in 2001 as well. This year, it consisted of a box set containing two separate VHS tapes:
Pikachu's Winter Vacation 2001
"Delibird's Presents"
A snowball thrown by Pikachu and the others while they were playing ends up hitting a Delibird flying by, causing its precious presents to fall from the sky. The group starts searching for the presents in order to help the troubled Delibird.
"White Story"
A white Kabigon suddenly shows up. Could it actually be that the snowman Kabigon Pikachu and its friends made started moving!? Pikachu and the others go with the white Kabigon to a cliff. But then, the cliff collapses...!

"Balloon Trouble"
The Pichu Brothers are always full of energy. One day while they're playing with all their friends at their secret base, an accident leads to a sibling quarrel breaking out. It eventually turns into a huge commotion the entire Millennium Town gets dragged into.
